Mr. Boyko NitzovAgency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators
Mr. Boyko Nitzov is the Team Leader for gas infrastructure development within the Gas Department of the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators of the EU. Earlier, he served as the Director of Programs of the Dinu Patriciu Eurasia Center of the Atlantic Council in Washington, DC, the senior expert on investment in the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels, researcher, lecturer and Assistant Director of the Institute for Energy Economics and Policy at Sarkeys Energy Center of the University of Oklahoma.
His involvement is primarily with the issues of regulation and investments in the energy sector (oil and gas), strategies for natural gas utilization, development of oil and gas fields and transportation of oil and gas, and underground gas storage in various regions of the world including Europe, the Caspian Sea region, Central Asia, USA, China, Northeast and Southeast Asia. He is a graduate of the Moscow State Institute of International Relations, and after graduation worked for Chimimport Ltd. and taught at the University of National and World Economy in Sofia. He holds a PhD degree in economics. Nitzov has pursued postgraduate studies in economics, business, and entrepreneurship provided by the University of Arizona.
